It saves time and money in the long run.  You can waive the bond requirements for your personal repesentative and trustee, which saves money.  In addition, the probate process is simpler with a will, and therefore generally less expensive than if you pass without one.  Because probate is faster and less expensive, you make the process easier for the family and friends you leave behind. It also is easier emotionally for your friends and family because you remove the uncertainty as to who should receive your home, assets and personal property.
